Our work is demanding emotionally, and it’s easy to lose ourselves. We can end up feeling drained, disconnected and overwhelmed. We can lose the passion and joy we once felt for life and work.
Choosing the path of a healer can be extremely rewarding but, not an easy one, I know.
Over the years, I have had many therapists as clients. Likely, because know the value of doing our own work and taking care of ourselves. I have also experienced at least a couple of episodes of burn out, or compassion fatigue in my 20+ years of practice.
I think I am in a unique position to help other therapists.
- I share my own experience and what I have learned along the way.
- I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) Therapy which can really help with your own trauma that gets triggered in sessions with clients as well as reprocess vicarious trauma, the trauma that happens sometimes in our practice with clients.
- I am outside your community of colleagues.
- Traveling to my office can offer a chance to retreat from everything, take time for you, and enjoy the healing power of nature.
I am passionate about guiding therapists to connect with their deepest, most authentic selves and learning to live from the place of self-love. I believe there is no such thing as true meaningful self-care without self-love. Past trauma and negative beliefs can block our ability to love ourselves, and give our best to others.
